More Abstract
More Abstract was developed as the website for the solo exhibition More Abstract, by Pedro Victor Brandão, presented in 2023 at Portas Vilaseca. The platform brought together approximately 40 NFT-based artworks, including still images, videos, and audio pieces.
The website functions as a digital access point to the exhibition. Visitors can read the press release, consult the critical essay by Natália Quinderé, explore the featured series, and interact with the NFTs created for the project. The interface supports wallet connection and the acquisition of listed artworks.
During the exhibition, visitors to the website could freely collect visual outputs from Faucet, an interactive sculpture that generates images through audience participation. The website incorporated this process by enabling the collection of an open edition during 15-day windows throughout the exhibition period.
Permanent Archiving
The platform also provides access to the permanent archiving of the artworks. This decision reflects the practice of both the artist and the studio, who are interested in combining the public circulation of images with mechanisms for digital collecting and long-term preservation.
More Abstract was also designed to keep the exhibition accessible after the physical show had ended, bringing together editorial content, documentation, media archives, and blockchain interaction within a single interface.
Technical Features
All artworks were issued on Ethereum Mainnet. Three series used ERC-721 smart contracts and one series used an ERC-1155 smart contract, all deployed by the artist through Manifold.
The website was built with Next.js and uses token display widgets provided by Manifold. The project was later featured in Manifold's own official documentation as an implementation example.
