Duplicate Checker

Duplicate Checker was developed during the editorial process of the special edition of Jornal Pessoal, by Lúcio Flávio Pinto, as part of Nheenga Cabana, a project by Giseli Vasconcelos and Pedro Victor Brandão commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro.

The editorial team was working with a large body of texts published by the original author over different periods. During the editing process, complete sentence duplications were identified within long passages of text. These repetitions needed to be located quickly in order to reduce the material without losing relevant information.

The tool allows users to paste a text and identify duplicated sentences. This enabled the editorial team to review the content with greater control and make editing decisions based on occurrences located by the system.

The project was developed on demand to address a specific editorial need. At the time, there was no simple tool capable of performing the task in the way the workflow required.

Duplicate Checker is an example of a small, focused, and functional tool. Its value lies in its suitability to context: handling millions of characters, reducing the final volume of material, and supporting precise editorial work.
