Karmetplace

Collecting the Performing Arts
Karmetplace was developed for The Sphere as a marketplace for NFTs issued through a collection created by the organization between 2020 and 2022. The collection had been formed through governance processes and required an interface for viewing, listing, purchasing, and bidding on artworks.

The platform translated into the browser a logic already embedded in smart contracts. Visitors could connect a wallet, view artworks, list NFTs, define reserve prices, set listing durations, purchase available items, and place offers.

Value Propagation
Redistribution logic was central to the project. uint studio implemented an ERC-1155C smart contract on Ethereum Mainnet and guided participating artists through the token minting process as well as the preparation of metadata.
We also managed the distribution of editions to approximately 50 wallets that participated in the Karmic Funding round held in 2022.

Inspired by the concept of “generous speculation,” part of each sale returned to artists while another portion was directed to the Sphere Common Pool, the organization's shared treasury. This distribution followed principles established by The Sphere itself for circulating resources among artists, participants, and common infrastructure.

The website also included explanatory pages and an FAQ covering relevant terms and processes. This content helped visitors understand how the artworks, contracts, listings, and value distribution mechanisms operated.

Maintenance
Karmetplace has existed in more than one version and has faced ongoing maintenance challenges. Because the assets were issued on the blockchain, they continue to exist independently of any interface in a permissionless manner. The studio's work involved building and maintaining an access layer for a contractual architecture that was already in operation.
